Service puppies ready to graduate
Ayla, a golden retriever, can open refrigerators, turn on light switches, open and close doors, help take off clothing, pick up dropped objects and call for help. She’s learned these skills at Eyes Ears Nose and Paws, a training center for assistance dogs at 209 Lloyd St., Suite 320.

Company turns pets into personal assistants
The program trains assistance dogs to help people with mobility issues or who have diabetes. The dogs alert them when their blood sugar levels are too high or too low and summon help if needed.

Eyes Ears Nose and Paws assistance dogs are boon companions
I am a board member for Eyes Ears Nose and Paws (http://www.eenp.org), a local assistance dog organization. Through this work, I have learned so much about what animals can do for us and how rewarding this "service" is to both sides.
